Summary

Public funding providers for French and European R&D projects proceed in two ways:

• Either by calls for projects with specific opening and closing dates.
  This is the case for the Enterprise Competitiveness Fund (FCE), the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the European Commission (FP7).
• Or by official requests for funding on an ad hoc basis.
  This is the case for Oseo-Innovation and the AII.

Local authorities are also involved in the applications evaluated by the Ministry of Industry for the FCE or by Oseo-Innovation.

These funding providers take into account the competitive cluster process and require the clusters to accredit each project in order to consider providing funds.
