Philippe Archinard became Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Transgene on December 7, 2004.

He began his professional career with bioMérieux in 1985 where he held various positions in France and the United States, including CEO of the U.S. operations. Since March 2000, he has served as Chief Executive Officer of Innogenetics until his appointment as CEO of Transgene. He holds a chemical engineering degree and a PhD in biochemistry from Lyon University, and has completed the PMD program at the Harvard Business School.

He is also Vice Chairman of EuropaBio and President of Lyonbiopôle.
