If your project falls within the fields and research topics mentioned above, Lyonbiopôle offers you an accreditation process, thus maximizing your chances of obtaining funding.
In concrete terms, how does the accreditation process work?
The accreditation and funding process
1 File a project application

File a project application by completing the form « Letter of intent for an R&D project » - (Word 500 Ko) and sending it in to Lyonbiopôle’s Scientific Director.

Receipt of the application is recorded (file # and acknowledgement of receipt).

A summary of the project and the Scientific Director’s opinion of the proposal are written and sent to Lyonbiopôle’s Technical Group prior to the meeting of the Board of Directors.

A file is created for each member of the Technical Group. This file can only be consulted at Lyonbiopôle.
2 The project application is analyzed
The project application is analyzed by the Technical Group
- A letter of reply is sent to the applicant and a full application file is prepared, defining the project in greater detail (search for partnerships, organization, reorientation, etc.).
3 The full application is filed
- The full application is filed
4 A presentation of the project
- A presentation of the project may be given to the Technical Group and potential funding providers:

The Technical Group submits a proposal to accredit the project to the Board of Directors.

A summary of the arguments is written.
5 The project is accredited

The project is accredited by the Board of Directors
6 A letter of accreditation is written

A letter of accreditation is written for the project initiator
Four main eligibility criteria are taken into account during the accreditation process:
- The project’s consistency with the cluster’s research topics (PDF - 20 Ko) and priorities
- The conditions for eligibility specified by the French State. For example, for the Enterprise Competitiveness Fund (FCE), the project must bring together at least two firms and one technical facility, etc.
- The maturity of the project (intellectual property at startup, objectives, phases, partnerships and a finalized funding plan),
- Impact on the economic and technological development of the cluster, on investments, on job creation, etc.
The accreditation process has a threefold aim:
1) To encourage economic development within the cluster’s geographic area
2) To strengthen and coordinate public research in the cluster’s topic areas
3) To develop high quality partnerships
During the accreditation process, Lyonbiopôle complies with Best Practices in Intellectual Property and Non-Disclosure.
Des The cluster has established rules to regulate the use of intellectual property between its members. These rules, specific to each project, are based on a consortium agreement model.
Only the cluster management team has access to the records (except by express request of the project initiator). Any disclosure of information must be approved by the project initiator.
