International Development
As a world-leading cluster, Lyonbiopôle must deploy and strengthen its renown internationally.
Indeed, human and animal health-related markets are global in nature, as are the potential competitors and partners.
Thus, it is crucial to strengthen the cluster’s positioning and make it more appealing to the rest of the world.
Lyonbiopôle must attract new research, development, training and promotional activities in the field of infectious diseases to the Lyon-Grenoble area.
The cluster must also bring in new sources of funding to support the projects.
In order to meet this aim, Lyonbiopôle must build a competitive offer to bring in, support and provide funding for technological and scientific projects.
Such an offer will enable the cluster to attract renowned teams in the field of infectious diseases from around the world. This offer, to be the cornerstone of the cluster’s international deployment strategy, will rely mainly on the Infectious Disease Center. .
Target countries:
- The United States in order to present the cluster’s strengths to the world’s most dynamic, most important market
- Emerging countries, in particular those in Asia and South America, in order to develop new cooperative ventures in the cluster’s fields of expertise.
- The European Countries of the Eurobiocluster Sud, Cataluna, Lombardia, Munïch, Bade Wrtemberg.
This international development drive already distinguished itself in 2006 through Lyonbiopôle’s active participation in several congresses and trade shows, such as BIO Chicago.
In 2007, Lyonbiopôle will invest even more energy and participate in BIO Boston spearheading an operation to market and promote all of France’s competitive clusters in the healthcare field.
