The Rhone-Alpes presents 2 Research and Higher Education (PRES) Senior Clusters : Lyon University and Grenoble University. These institutions train more than 20,000 students in Life Sciences and Health per year to jobs of researcher, physician, engineer and entrepreneur in the health sector ...
Since its creation, Lyonbiopole wants to promote the good coherence between the initial and continuing trainings and skills needed to develop the biotech sector in the region. This approach aims to protect bio-industrial employment in the Rhone-Alpes, improve the cluster’s member companies’ skills, growth and competitiveness .
To better meet the needs of its member companies, Lyonbiopole launched in 2008 a major survey "critical expertise". In 2009, the findings of this survey were presented to training institutions in Rhone-Alpes.
Moreover, Lyonbiopole educates its members to Industrial Property and consortium agreements.

« By helping academic and industrial partners work more closely together, Lyonbiopole is a true catalyst in the emergence and setup of large-scale innovative R&D projects. iDD biotech has two projects accredited by the cluster (PRAVIC & GLIADYS), which are key steps in the development of an SMB. The cluster’s support, through its professionalism and dynamism, enables us to speed up the development of biotech-based candidate medicines, by integrating a number of technological building blocks that rely on local expertise. This is a means to boost players in various sectors – private or public – by pooling everyone’s expertise and know-how, while making the local and national economy more competitive. »
