Partnering Days
Every year in October and alternately in Lyon and Grenoble Lyonbiopole gathers the Rhone Alpes health actors from industrial sectors, SMEs, academic and hospital, working in the cluster’s domains.
This annual event’s objectives are to :
> Present R&D public funding schemes and the cluster’s strategic axes
> Highlight the projects accredited by the cluster and financed since 2005
> Encourage collaboration between participants and initiate new partnerships through scientific roundtables
In 2011, the 5th Partnering Days edition was held on Friday 7th October 2011 at the Espace de l'Ouest Lyonnais.
This edition was a huge success with more than 270 participants over the day: 38% SMEs, 21% industrial, 32% of academic researchers and 9% of partners. The event outlines the technological and economic benefits of the first collaborative R&D projets accredited by Lyonbiopole and that came to an end.

« Innovations by biotech firms still take too long to reach major pharmaceutical companies, despite the growing needs of industrial firms and their interest in these breakthroughs in the area of personalized treatment. One of the main reasons is that start ups lack networks and visibility in the eyes of these large industrial groups. These two complementary players thus need a catalyst to create meetings, pass on information and contact one another. This is what World Competitive Clusters like Lyonbiopole do. ImmunID has benefited from this effective support, and we have had excellent results in 2008 and 2009, signing contracts with several firms which are leaders in their field, such as Sanofi Pasteur. In the end, Lyonbiopole is an organization which plays an active role in setting up and giving impetus to future high potential R&D projects in the health sphere. »
