Under the impulse of the GD€co, Lyonbiopôle launched in 2009 new actions focused on private funding as part of its support for economic development of its SMBs members. Indeed, to answer to the need of SMBs to be in contact with business angels, venture capital (VC) and corporate investors, two key actions have been implemented:
The special day "SMEs and private financing: how to increase your capital?"
Lyonbiopôle in partnership with Crealys, OSEO and with the support of Sanofi Pasteur, has offered the opportunity for innovative businesses and new entrepreneurs, to meet and interact with private investors of all type and from all private financial organizations. This event held on Friday, December 4th , 2009, hosted over 135 participants from which more than 30 national and regional investors.

The investor meetings
Organized a day, the investor meetings consist in a full day dedicated to a specific investor and organized in two different moments:
- During the day, individual meetings between member companies and private investors
- During lunch, a workshop followed by a “networking buffet” in order to facilitate the exchange between investors and SMBs.
The first “investor meetings” took place on Thursday, June 10th 2010.
Mounia Chaoui, General Partner and Cedric Lécureuil, Analyst for Ventech, a leading French venture capital fund that invests in the areas of Information Technology and Life Sciences, spoke on: Could the Capital Risk led Biotechs to the success?
A dozen of companies in the region have had the opportunity to meet them individually.
