The pole is partner of a European project, the Alps Bio Cluster project. More recently, a collaboration agreement (MoU) have been signed with the BioIndustry Park Silvano Fumero, an Italian science park but also the managing company of the biotech and medtech cluster in Piedmont: BioPmed.
Eager to be more involved in the development of European clusters in 2010, Lyonbiopole has joined the CEBR (Council of European Bioregion), a network of organizations (clusters, incubators and science parks, ...) involved in the development of bio clusters at European level. First network of its kind, the CEBR aims to develop and implement new activities to support Biotechs across Europe.
Lyonbiopole leads a European scientific network on biomedical systemic approaches applied to vaccines, biotherapies and diagnostics.
The network of partners is constituted by the following regions:
> Amsterdam, Netherlands
> East Midlands
> Luxembourg
> Munich
> Stockholm, Sweden

« Lyonbiopole has gradually become an important resource center for my research group at the Structural Biology Institute of Grenoble. Our work in molecular infectious diseases has benefited from contacts made at Lyonbiopole’s Partnering Days with the physicians and industrial leaders from the region in order to set up new projects. The cluster has also played a role in organizing a mission as part of the Coopol France-China program via the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We quickly initiated academic projects and programs on diagnosing pneumococcal infections with Chinese universities and companies met during this mission. In short, Lyonbiopole boosts our work in fundamental and applied infectious diseases both locally and globally! »
