Yves Laurent is 48 and was born in Brussels.

 

Until his recent appointment, he was previously the Director of the Christophe Mérieux Center - Center of R&D in Molecular Biology and Microsystems of bioMérieux- in Grenoble.

He was also formerly the Deputy Director of the Department of Advanced Technology of the same company.

From 1994 to 2003, Yves Laurent ran his own company: as the CEO, he set up and developed Genome express (DNA sequencing), which has become Cogenics today.
He also has a solid "field" experience in sales, acquired previously with Sanofi and Applied Biosystems.

 

Yves Laurent holds a DEA (French post graduate degree obtained after five years of university education) in Bio physical chemistry and Cell and Molecular Biology
