Launching of the BioX4Clusters European project

The BioX4Clusters project selected in December 2011, by the call for projects "Promoting world-class clusters" by DG Enterprise (European Commission), has started. Coordinated by ERAI Rhôbe-Alpes, it gathers 4 European Life Sciences clusters (Lyonbiopole, BioCat (Catalonia), BioM (Bayern Region) and BioPmed (Piedmont). The partners will meet on March 1st and 2nd, 2012 in Lyon, for the official Kick-off meeting. This initiative, that will last 24 months, aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Life Sciences European SME by facilitating their international development (3 target markets: Brazil, China, USA).

Budget: 786 K€ co-funded at 75% by the EU commission

> Objectives of BioX4Clusters

- Develop a common and joint internationalisation strategy for the 4 Life Sciences Clusters to reinforce European SMEs’competitiveness beyond Europe

* Mutualising and sharing internationalisation tools (programs, practices, networks) already implemented by the 4 clusters and ERAI

* Identifying the most efficient tools for SMEs’ competitiveness on the global market

* Testing pilot actions towards 3 targeted markets: Brazil, China, United States

* Reinforcing the visibility of the 4 European Life Sciences Clusters  and European competences worldwide
